NEW Wisconsin Weekender
June 6-8, 2008

If you’re the kind of cyclist who has considered taking your ride to the next level – an organized bicycle tour – then join us for a one-of-a-kind program geared specifically for you. Come join us on the Wisconsin Weekender Bike Tour and sample the ins and outs of an organized bicycle tour in one weekend.

Participants may elect to attend seminars or “cycling classes” given by Wisconsin’s own experts in the field.  Subjects will include group riding techniques and bicycle safety, bicycle fit for upright and recumbent, riding apparel, bicycle accessories, stretching, massage, and nutrition/hydration.  These confidence-building classes will be offered in the morning and afternoon throughout the weekend, in conjunction with fully-supported bicycle loop routes (25-60 miles), allowing one to learn, then ride, in a relaxed setting along the beautiful back roads surrounding Whitewater, WI. Easy cycling ability level.

Highlights from our Expo area include demo bikes from Specialized Designs for Women and the Hostel Shoppe of Steven’s Point; plus tent demos from REI, goodies provided by Rishi Tea, PROBAR, Elete water and bicycle information from the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin – with more to follow!  The Wisconsin Weekender offers a full schedule designed to keep both the new to touring and seasoned veteran active throughout the weekend.

Registration fees include classes, fully-supported bicycle routes, maps, dorm lodging at a UW-W residence hall, meals, event T-shirt or cap, a Friday evening “Pep Rally” and a “Graduation” lunch on Sunday.
